Our washcloths are in a sorry state, and I have oodles of cotton yarn from a sale a while back. What do we need? New washcloths! What do I have? Cotton yarn!
New washcloths it is, and a new pattern to go along with them! Cotton works great because it holds up well, and you can wash it over and over and over again.
I used a simple single crochet, double crochet repeat for this pattern, giving it a textured look and feel that will come in handy while cleaning. Little scrubbies that will help get the gunk off but in a pattern that whips up within half an hour or less.
These would be an excellent addition to a baby shower gift basket, or as a housewarming gift etc. So quick, so easy!
Dishcloth/Washcloth FREE Crochet Pattern
Ch-25, sc in second ch from hook, dc in next. *Sc in next, dc in next* to end. Ch-1, turn. (24)
Rows 1-22: sc in first st, dc in second. *sc in next, dc in next* to end. Ch-1, turn.
Fasten off, weave in ends.
That is IT!
You could choose to sc around the dish/wash cloth to create a clean edge, but for me, seeing as this is a washcloth that I expect to get dirty and well used, I chose to forego the border. If I were giving them away as a gift, I would probably take the time to clean up the edges. I must admit, I like the look!
