What is the longest vacation you’ve ever taken? 2 weeks? 5 days? How long is too long? Does it depends on where you’re going? Or, does it depend on how nice the bed is?
The goal of any vacation: to relax, to unwind and to recharge.
Does that happen? Nope! I don’t think I have ever come home from a vacation just raring to go, anxious to get back to work. And, this vacation is no different. Am I having fun? YES! We are all having a blast. But, I’m also done.
Done spending money, done having sand in places that should never have sand 😛 , done living out of a suitcase, done improvising and did I mention that I’m done spending money?
For me, the length of vacation it dependent on the expense, the accommodations, and on my kids. If we don’t take the kids, then I miss them after just a day (or two, HA!) and if we DO take the kids, well, I miss my home after just a few days.
At this point in our vacation (day 4) I’m ready to sleep in my own bed. I’m ready to relax, and to eat home cooked comfort food on my own couch, to throw my clothes in my own washer and throw on my favorite comfy pants and ratty old t-shirt.
By the way, yes, I’m posting this while we are on vacation. LOL We are driving (an hour) to the beach and I’m hot spotting it up in the van.
I think I need a vacation from my vacation. How long is too long?
