Ninja turtles are all the rage. I know both of my boys wish they could be a ninja turtle. If you too have a little ninja turtle fan, whip up one of these beanies with masks. This is a quick pattern, and even if you are new to crochet it shouldn’t be too difficult. You only need to know how to single crochet and double crochet, which we have in our video tutorials!
Print the PDF pattern HERE and add this to your Ravelry queue HERE. 😀
Note that you may use any beanie pattern you wish. This specific beanie pattern is intended to be large, it fits my pre-teen fine and is snug on me. It is not intended to be a hat worn for wamth, but a costume hat for play. Enjoy!

Rows 9-15: ch-2, dc in each st around, join with sl st. fasten off and weave in end.
*you can make this as long or as short as you like. I like it to be a little longer so that the mask portion better covers the eyes.
For the mask and with your second color:
Row 1: Ch-50. Find the middle of the beanie, and fold in half with the seam in the middle. To the FRONT side, attach with a sc, sc in the next 29 sts. Ch-51
Row 2: sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each across. Ch-1. Turn.
Row 3: sc in each st across. Ch-1. Turn.
Row 4: sc in first 55 sts. Ch-11, sk 8 sts, attach with a sc in the next st. sc in next 3 sts. ch-11, sk 8 sts, attach with a sc in the next st and sc in each across. ch-1. Turn.
Row 5: sc in first 54 sts. sk next st (pictured below). sc 15 times around your ch-11 from the previous row. sk next st. sc in next 2 sts. Sk next st, sc 15 times around the second ch-11 from the previous row. sk next st and sc in each st to end. Ch-1. Turn.
Row 6: sc in first 53 sts, sk 2 sts, sc in next 14, sc in next 2 sts, sc in next 14, sk next 2 sts, sc in each remaining st across. Ch-1. Turn.
Row 7: sc in each st to end. Fasten off and weave in ends.
When you tie the ends of your beanie, make sure to tie it higher up on the head. Sometimes it can fall down and give the whole mask a droopy look, and we don’t want that! If you have any questions be sure to ask!
