Got leather? If I know one thing, it doesn’t take much to make a nice pair of leather shoes look bad, and fast! It would be easy to just go out and buy a new pair, but we are all about saving and using what we can!

My husband wears these leather loafers daily… and they looked awful! He got these only a couple months ago, so I wasn’t about to go buy a brand new pair.  Finding a way to clean these was the only option.  Just a couple easy steps and they’ll be looking as good as new!

All you need are 2 basic ingredients that most of us have around the house: vinegar and water. I started with 1 cup of each in separate dishes.

Here is the BEFORE picture! Looking a little rough, right? If your shoes have any heavy dirt or debris, use a gentle hand brush to brush any off before hand.

With 2 different washcloths, gently clean. First step is to take the vinegar, dip your rag into it, and gently wipe the entire shoe down. If you have some pretty dirty areas, you might need to scrub, but otherwise, a good wipe down is all you need. You will probably need to re-wet your rag with vinegar a few times to get a good coat.

After about 5 minutes, take the second rag, dipped in water, you are going to “wash” off the vinegar now. Again, you will probably need to re-wet your rag each time, until you’ve completely wiped off the entire shoe.

Boom! Let dry! The shoe on the right is the AFTER! Looks pretty dang new right?
