We all have selfie friends. You know the ones: New selfie everyday, almost always from an awkward, totally unnatural angle. And usually with a filter.
And then there are the friends that never ever post pictures of themselves.
Is that even you? I wonder.
I hate taking selfies, but sometimes I DO want a good photo of me with my boys, or me with the family, or me at a landmark to remember a special event or vacation.
Gone are the days of arms in selfie shots, and selfie sticks aren’t absolutely necessary – in the right circumstances.
The #1 Least Known Trick for Taking Better Selfies (with an iPhone)
If you have an iPhone, you have a pair of those super uncomfortable earbuds they give you. I know we’ve got 5-6 pair with all of the upgrades we have done over the years. iPhone 4, iPhone 5, iPhone 6… I say 5 OR 6 because, well, who knows where that last pair went.
Did you know that with those very earbuds, you can take better selfies? It’s true, friends.
Plug in your earbuds, prop up your phone (it auto-corrects when upside down and sideways too) and take a few steps back. Use the volume control button as a shutter button and voila! You’ve got a selfie with your arms out of the shot, and it even looks like someone ELSE took the photo!
How cool is that?!
Some examples (and only because I put on makeup today) with and without the cord:
While they may not be the BEST selfies in the world, they look better than the ones I take without the earbuds! Gotta love that resting b*tch face I got going on. You know the one.
And, the photo that is currently my “about me” photo was, you guessed it, actually a selfie. Better, no?
Selfie with confidence friends! And send me one so I can see how you’re rockin’ it. ♥
