One household task most of us dislike? Dusting. One thing that makes it better? Using a super adorable Llama Dusting Mitt! This cute little llama mitt crochet pattern is the newest installment in my 2021 Household Crochet Series, and if this doesn’t get us up and moving I don’t know what will. Let’s whip one up together!

Llama dusting mitt crochet pattern

Llama Dusting Mitt Pattern

This adorable dusting mitt slides right onto your hand for easy dusting. Since the “fur” goes around the entire mitt, this is ideal for dusting mini blinds and other household items that tend to collect dust.

For obvious reasons I decided to use felt instead of safety eyes.

Maybe the kids will find it more fun to dust when they have their own little cute Llama Dusting Mitt to help them along? I’m willing to give it a shot. 😂 (find the CHILD size of this pattern here.)

Materials:

Dishie Cotton in “linen” colorway
-approx. 200 yards

Crochet hook in size G/4mm

Short piece of black yarn for face

Black felt for eyes (like this)
*you could substitute round 1 of the ears if needed.

Fabric glue (like this)

fabric glue

Pattern Notes:

Pattern written in US terms.

Pattern is worked flat then seamed. Add the face before seaming.

The Half Double Crochet portion is always worked as normal crochet. The “fur” (sc, ch-4) is worked in reverse (starting at the left edge working to the right of the hdc row).

It helps to mark the first stitch and the last stitch of the single crochet portion of the face each row with a stitch marker.

BLO = back loop only

Find the ad-free PDF on either Ravelry, Etsy, or in the Heart Hook Home shop. Thank you!

There is a VIDEO tutorial for this stitch/pattern. Find it in the Kids Size Mitt pattern post here.

Sl st to next st, fasten off leaving a long enough tail to sew ear to head. Sew securely, getting as close to the base of the stitches (not the fur) as you can. Weave in all ends.

    1. Hi Ramona! For this pattern it just means that the Hdc rows are worked from right to left (like in regular crochet) as opposed to the chain rows which are worked left to right (backwards). Hope this helps!
