Reversible Men’s Scarf: Free Crochet Pattern

Are you looking for the perfect thing to gift the father figures in your life? This year for Father’s Day we are really going to WOW them! Grab your hook and let’s crochet a handsome reversible scarf for men using this free crochet pattern.
Men’s Reversible Scarf
This reversible scarf has such great depth and dimension. The fabric is super squishy and the way these stitches are worked means that this scarf is completely reversible. A great feature for something that will not always lay flat.
This new men’s scarf pattern uses post stitches and here is a full tutorial (including video) if you’ve never made them before. These stitches are also great for edgings and borders on all kinds of cardigans and blankets, so this would be a great opportunity to practice if that is the case!
Look at the depth and dimension and the texture… I just love it! We are using Gloss DK yarn for this project. It is a size 3 (DK) weight yarn in the “Hawk” colorway. You’ll need approximately 855 yards, or 7 balls.
If you are stash busting, there are many options… you could use virtually any size 3/DK yarn, or even a worsted weight yarn if you’ve got the perfect color. The size may be slightly larger than intended, but that is perfectly okay!

DK/size 3 yarn (Gloss DK in “Hawk” Colorway pictured)
-approx. 855 yards
Crochet hook in size I/5.5mm
Gauge: 16 sts in 4” width
Dimensions: Approx. 8” wide and 78” long

Fpdc = Front Post Double Crochet (tutorial)
Bpdc = Back Post Double Crochet (tutorial)
Pattern:
Row 1: Ch-33, dc in 3rd ch from hook and in each to end. (31)
Row 2: Ch-1, turn, hdc in first st. * fpdc around next 3 sts, bpdc around next 3 sts * repeat between * * to end. Hdc in top of last st. (32)
Row 3: Ch-1, turn, hdc in first st. * fpdc around next 2 sts, bpdc around next 3 sts, fpdc around next * repeat between * * to end. Hdc in last st. (32)
Row 4: Ch-1, turn, hdc in first st. * bpdc around next 2 sts, fpdc around next 3 sts, bpdc around next * repeat between * * to end. Hdc in last st. (32)
Row 5: Ch-1, turn, hdc in first st. * bpdc around next 3 sts, fpdc around next 3 sts * repeat between * * to end. Hdc in last st. (32)
Row 6: Ch-1, turn, hdc in first st. * fpdc around next st, bpdc around next 3 sts, fpdc around next 2 sts * repeat between * * to end. Hdc in last st. (32)
Row 7: Ch-1, turn, hdc in first st. * bpdc around next st, fpdc around next 3 sts, bpdc around next 2 sts * repeat between * * to end. Hdc in last st. (32)
Rows 8 – 211: repeat rows 2 – 7 (32)
Fasten off and weave in all ends.
