Do you just hate house cleaning, yet you cannot stand a messy house? Well, you are not the only one! Many of us enjoy being in a clean surrounding, but not taking part in creating it. Besides, doesn’t a house just get dirty even before you forget all you went through to make it spotless?

How ungrateful, you think!

Actually, there are some tricks you can employ to make house cleaning a little painless. Other than spending long gruesome hours to create a neat home, use the following guide for people who hate house cleaning and enjoy some order in your space.

1. Plan Short Bursts of Cleaning

Tackling the entire house is overwhelming. In fact, this can leave you hating house cleaning more. To avoid this, come up with a plan that involves quick intense cleaning which lasts only a few minutes. You can do this twice each day. All you need is to pick a focus room, identify the notorious corners of this room and choose to deal with them within these few minutes.

Pick up from where you left in the next session. If you choose a different room each day, you end up with a very clean house by the end of the week. This way, you can actually afford some time to rest during the weekend.

2. Have Fun

It’s helpful that cleaning doesn’t call for a lot of concentration. In fact, you can create a party kind of mood in your house during cleaning. Put on your favorite music when dusting, mopping or removing cobwebs, sip your wine when wiping those kitchen countertops and washing dishes or catch up with the latest episode of your beloved series when arranging items in the drawer.

Involving a fun activity will steal your attention from the wearisome cleaning task and focus to the interesting indulgence thus making the work feel easier. Having enjoyed your work and seeing the impressive results is all you need to encourage you to do the job again when the need arises.

3. Get Rid of Excess Stuff

It is understandable that you want to keep most of your items hoping to use them in future. Your fear is that a need will arise when you have given them away. You hold on to such items year in, year out, and never touch them, leave alone find their use.

Wanna save this for later?

We'll email this post to you, so you can come back to it when you're ready.

All they do is clutter your house. Actually, having unnecessary items in your home not only makes it look untidy but also takes a lot of your time to clean and arrange.

On the other hand, if you do away with such items, you create space for new handy items. Besides, you can easily identify suitable spaces to put the things you need. Make sure to arrange them in a specific criterion.

For instance, you can group the items according to their recommended use and identify suitable drawers or shelves to place them.

4. Clean As You Go

Do not wait for sludge to build up in the bathroom. It becomes hard to remove and will require a lot of time. If anything spills, wipe it off immediately before it dries or drenches your carpet. In the kitchen, clean dishes after every meal when they are just a few pieces to deal with.

You do not have to hoard your laundry into a huge load until you decide to wash. It takes a short time to clean and fold a few pieces.

5. Automate as Many Tasks as You Can

Today, one can cut down a great deal of time spent on house chores by investing in technology. This is not only a go-to solution for those who lack time but also the ones who dread cleaning.

There are robotic cleaners, automatic shower cleaners, self-cleaning ovens and automatic toilet cleaning systems, among others. If you want to do very little to keep your home clean, invest in some of these products. In any case, your number one concern here is going home to a clean, peaceful space after a long grilling day at work.

  1. I love these recommendations, especially downsizing in stuff! I have been having to clean our home recently and it's because we have been subconsciously hoarding random things.. This results in a ton more work to be done and it's just a mess. I'm going to work on getting rid of excess stuff and we'll also hire a cleaning company so we can really declutter and keep our home clean! Great guide for people like my wife and I. Thank you!
  2. It is very important to clean our house very properly. Nobody doesn't like to see the dirty home. We should keep our home germ free and clean. Recently the "Corona Virus" is a big threat to the whole of the world so we should protect it and keep clean always. Thank you very much for sharing these helpful cleaning tips.
  3. Great post! I like to take one day of the week and focus on doing a deep clean. Normal cleans are great, but generally we tend to skip specific parts of our home that we know will take more time to clean. But always a good idea to focus on the daily cleaning routines, and deep cleaning when one has more time.
  4. I loved your tip about getting rid of excess stuff as I hate any mess in my house even if this stuff ever comes handy. I've decided to check every item in my house and think about its necessity to decide if I need in in the future. I will make sure to get rid of all the unnecessary things before I hire a professional service to clean the house after my birthday party as they will not be able to do that with all these things present in my house!
  5. This post is interesting but frankly speaking, those people who hate cleaning may hire maid services instead of doing this one, but this is a great post. Learn new cleaning tips.
  6. I’ve always been one of those people that cleans and puts things away in large bursts. It worked for me living alone, but my wife doesn’t operate this way. She’s a mini-cleaner and does it much more frequently than I do which has lead to some friction. As much as I hate it, cleaning more frequently in shorter bursts does help in the long run. However, don’t tell my wife that.
  7. Yeah I have to do all of these things! I have friends that dedicate their entire Saturday morning to cleaning and I'm like whaaaaat? I do tiny bits at a time. Like if I want to do the bathroom, I'll clean the toilet one day, then the sink the next day, then the shower after that etc.
  8. I am not a big fan of cleaning and my three dogs keep coming in from the backyard and getting my carpet dirty! I was so astonished to know that if anything spills, wipe it off immediately before it dries or drenches your carpet. To prevent this since most of the time I am not home I will be sure to get a cleaning service that will help!
  9. I like the recommendation to get rid of excess stuff. I've noticed that my house has required a lot of cleaning lately and I think it's because of all the things my wife inherited. Hiring a cleaning company could be very helpful for us right now because they could keep everything clean with taking too much time out of our busy schedules.
