We love getting to the lake as much as we can, and I love trying new recipes on the campfire grill. Take a look at these YUMMY, EASY, and CHEAP Banana Boats! My boys loved making them, and the end result was delicious!
I picked up bag of Recipe Mix Ins – Peanut Lovers’ Blend at Walmart for less than $4. This was a cheaper alternative than buying each component separately, plus, we only used about a third of the bag, and we’ll have more for next time.
Start by taking the banana and making a nice slit down the inside part, gently folding back the peel. Then load it up with the all goodness. Wrap the foil back up around banana… being careful not to pull too tightly over the top, it will smash the filling and cause it to stick to the foil.
Wanna save this for later?
This is where the magic happens! After wrapping back up with foil, throw them on the campfire. You could easily do this at home over the grill as well! We let these sit on the fire for about 20 minutes. Depending on heat and fire, you may need to rotate or move around.
Ta-DAAA!! Here’s what happens after you let heat do its work! You have 2 options here; eat as is, with a spoon OR we let it cool in fridge, and then made them into BANANA SPLITS!
