Let’s be real. We crocheters know alllll about those Messy Mom Bun Beanies. Talk about a crochet craze! In the Heart Hook Home Crochet Community I’ve seen some people say they’ve made twenty of them, and others say they have made upwards of two hundred for orders! Yowza!

Let me be real on another point: I am boring with my hair. There. I said it. My hair was always short as a child and adolescent. Truth be told I kinda had a semi-mullet going on. But then again it was the 80s.

I’ve been growing out my hair (all of it, not just the back 😉 ) for the past SIX years and now that it is long, I’m a dud on styling it. I don’t know what I’m doing, and my hair styling is extremely limited. For the most part I do straight or ponytail and if I’m feeling super trendy I’ll do a messy side braid. So when Melanie contacted me about Lilla Rose hair accessories, as they pertain to the Messy Bun Beanie craze, I told her that YES! I will absolutely give these bun pins a shot. And, I ♥ them.

I like to think of these Lilla Rose U-Pins as bobby pins on steroids. They are much larger than I originally thought, they come two to a pack, and you use just those two to lock your messy bun into place. And I mean LOCK it into place! I can shake my head and that bun isn’t going anywhere.

Wanna save this for later?

We'll email this post to you, so you can come back to it when you're ready.

To use, I throw on my Messy Mom Bun Beanie with my hair pulled through the top hole. Then I put my hair in a ponytail and proceed wrapping my hair to make a bun. Stick one U-Pin on either side of the bun and BOOM! You’re done, and that hair ain’t going anywhere, honey.

How quick was that?! Prices start at just $10 per pair and would be an excellent gift. I got the Compass Rose style (as pictured above) but I also love the Tiara, the Hawaiian Flower, the Iris and the Winter Wonder (shown in order below).

I had a hard time selecting an item but I am so glad Melanie contacted me! I have a feeling I’ll be ordering more and more. Because they’re awesome!!
