Who loves cooking with the slow cooker? THIS GIRL!
This slow cooker recipe is both easy and delicious. Cook all day on low, then throw it in a bowl and serve by itself or on top of a baked potato or with broccoli etc.
Pair this main dish with a house or Cesar salad and some garlic bread.
And now I’m hungry all over again.
Slow Cooker Cream Cheese Alfredo
What you’ll need:
- 1 pkg Italian Season Dressing
- 2 cans Cream of Chicken Soup
- 2 8 oz pkgs Cream Cheese
- 2 lbs Boneless Skinless Chicken Breast
- 1 box 16 oz Pasta (fettuccine, bow tie, rigatoni, etc)
- 1 tsp Pepper
- 2 minced Garlic Cloves (optional)
- 2 cups fresh chopped Broccoli (optional)
Directions:
Place the chicken breast in the bottom of the slow cooker. In a bowl combine: pkg of dressing, soup, cream cheese, garlic, and pepper. Microwave for 1 min. Mix well and pour over the chicken. The mixture will be thick. Don’t add water or milk.
Cook on High for 4 hrs, Med for 5, or low for 6. Once your cooking time has ended, shred chicken right in the slow cooker. Cook desired pasta al dente. Drain and then add the pasta to the slow cooker. If adding broccoli, add 30-60 mins before serving.
If the mixture is too thick, stir in 1/4 cup of water or milk.
This dish is very rich and flavorful. Serves well with Garlic Bread! Another favorite in our family is to skip the pasta and instead serve as a chicken alfredo potato! Makes roughly 8 servings.
Isn’t that beautiful?!
