  1. If I wanted to make the area around the ankle a little higher, would it be good to just add another row or two of sc? I absolutely love these, and they are very popular stocking stuffers. Thank you!
  2. Just whipped up a pair in 4 hours . In a remote camp and was able to do them in my rock truck between loads. Made them for a young man from back east who was missing the ones his grandmother used to make. Very much appreciated!
  3. I did the slippers for my brother waiting for him to try them just to sit with them on, hopefully they are ok. Easy to make. Will now make them for Ronald Mc Donald house. The pattern I usually make take longer and much more yarn, since these are for charity this is a win win . Thanks
  4. Thank you so much for this quick pattern! I’ve been crocheting for many years and all the other patterns are so complicated. I love this. You’re a great teacher. The step by step pictures are so helpful.
  5. Wow such an easy pattern to follow.I whipped my hubby up a pair in a matter of a couple hours.I will be whipping up more to put away for BDays and Christmas.Thank you so much

  8. Hi, I’m thinking of making these for my boyfriend for Christmas and need to adjust the size. He is a UK size 9- how and where should I adjust the pattern? Thank you!!
    1. Hi Jenny! Based on my google search, there isn't a huge difference in size between UK 9 and US 10...only like a half inch. So, this pattern should work as written. Hope this helps!
  9. These are great! I made one change. Instead of the row of SCs at the end, I did 2DCs in every slot, making a slightly higher slipper.
  10. Hi!! I would like to make women slipper just like the men’s, can u guide me how to, Ive made many pairs of the men’s to my son and his friends they love them!! Now all there girl friends want a pair but the men’s are to big for them! Can u tell me how I would size them down to there size is a six thank u
    1. Google a chart for men and women’s shoe sizes you will have a guide for how many inches to crochet. Width may require a little trial and error.
    2. Hi Tammy! I have a womens version of the slipper which can be found here: https://hearthookhome.com/ballet-slippers-free-crochet-pattern/
    3. I madenthese today but used a size 5 instead of 6, ended up perfect for my daughter (size i women's shoe) then made anpair for hubby with the size 6! Love the pattern - so easy!

  14. Omg thank you for the free pattern! I made all the women in my life slippers for Christmas but needed some for my husband, dad, and brother and these are perfect! I love them! I used Bernat Blanket and a K hook - they are so nice; I need to make some for myself. Work up so quick - love it. Thanks again!
  15. Thank you so much for this pattern! I had to make my dad some last minute Christmas gifts. When I saw this pattern I started making him some slippers right away! I used Bernat blanket yarn in brown for the slippers, then lined the inside of the foot and the cuff of the slipper with Bernat baby in white. SUPER soft! Thanks for the pattern :)
  16. I purchased one skein Bernat Softee Chunky (108 yards) to make this men’s slipper pattern. Pattern was simple to make. Finished first sock, no problem. Only got to row 11 of second sock and ran out of yarn! My tension and gauge is accurate. Very frustrating as I only had the one skein of yarn and it’s a discontinued color so I can’t order more.
    1. Oh my gosh that is frustrating but... here’s an idea... if you have a teen or tween to donate your slippers... it’s “in” right now to wear different color socks n slippers & even shoes! So much so that they even sell them at the stores like that! One of my boys even got his soccer cleats in mismatched colors! (Or a Christmas stocking!) I’ve been trying, for 3 days, to make a slipper & just can’t quite get it!!! I’ve tried about 20 times, no joke, and start over each time & I was following tutorials on YouTube! Talk about frustrating! I’ll try again today. I bought same yarn as you but got quite a few balls to make chunky hats! You get 2 adult +baby hats with 1 ball & they turn out absolutely gorgeous! Can you guess what everyone on my X-Mas list is getting??? Lol!!! Have an awesome day!
    2. Hi Heart Hook Home! (Sorry I cant find your name) Than you for sharing this pattern in beautiful detail & free to us!!! I’m new-ish so hopefully I can produce a useful slipper! Lol!!!
  17. I love this pattern and the ballet pattern. I want to do little boy slippers using the man pattern. You mentioned that you were going to try for your boys. Did I miss your comment on the result.? I would be very interested in the outcome. Thank you for all that you do.
  18. My husband is diabetic and has neuropathy bad in his feet. I have made him 4 pair in differant yarns and they are so comfy. He want let me try another pattern so thank you.
  19. Hello! I'm very new to crocheting. After years of wanting to learn, I finally just jumped and tried for the millionth time to figure everything out. I love your design. It seems very quick and simple enough for a newbie like me. My question is: how do you adjust your design for different shoe sizes? My hubby has huge feet; size 13. Basically, everyone in our family has big feet. Could you please explain how to adjust your design? Thank you in advance.
    1. Hi Melissa! You would just need to add rows in the Rounds 11-13 (or til length needed) section...stopping when slipper length is about 1 inch shorter of foot length. So, if you are making for a size 13 foot (which is just a tad over 11.5") you would crochet until your slipper is about 10.5"...then continue on to the round 14 directions. Hope this helps!

  21. Hi there, I'm really puzzled about how to even start these things...and I've crocheted all my life. Okay, so I make the magic circle, then why chain 2 if it's not a stitch? When I go to make my double crochets, I can't yarn over because there are 2 "stitches" on the needle, if you get what I mean. So to add to my question, when "counting" my double crochets, is it 12 plus the initial two chained stitches?

  23. Hi, I am puzzled, in row 9 we end with 24 stitches then do row 10, there is no reducing and yet we are supposed to have 18 sts. What are we supposed to do?
    1. Hi Maureen! From row 10 on, we are no longer working in the round, but in rows...so you will work your 18 DC's (disregard the hdc's and sc's from previous round) and just ch 2 and turn...then you will work your next rows of 18 DC's...you will continue working those rows until desired foot length is reached. Hope this makes sense and helps!
  24. Thanks for sharing your pattern I’ve made one slipper and will do the other tomorrow it was quick and easy God Bless u Jeri
  25. Love this pattern! Have made them for my husband and adult son. They work out to be slightly more than 1 skein of Thick and Quick.
  26. I made these in about size 9 by reducing the starting # of dc’s to 20. Worked great! Thank you! This and the ballet slippers are so quick and easy and look great! I’ll make the chunky ballet next as for winter I’ll want a thicker slipper.
  27. Can not wait to start money is tight going to try and make every on a pair and Be creative to personalize them thank you solved my problem starting tomorrow thanks. So much BELVA G
