I bought a new-to-me car this weekend.  LOVE LOVE LOVE it, and I want it to stay nice and smell-goody.  What do I want? A great smelling car!  What do I have? A Scentsy travel tin! What do I need? A car air freshener holdy thingy!  😛

These little Scentsy car air freshener holder thingymabobs are SUPER fast to crochet.  Whip out FOUR of them in one hour alone, and they make for perfect gifts for…

Teachers
Bus drivers
Bosses or co-workers
Siblings
Gift baskets
and so much more…

Even better? Each one takes just a itty bitty bit of yarn.  I use cotton for mine, and I highly suggest cotton after hearing the feedback from my testers.  Thank you, ladies.  You rock!

Go through your cotton stash and whip some up!  One single skein can make several of these.  Cost effective and quick, just like I like it.

Materials:

Cotton yarn (Lion Brand or Lily’s Sugar ‘n Cream)
Crochet hook, size H (this brand is my FAVORITE!)

Pattern:

Foundation Row: Ch-7, sc in 2nd st from hook, sc in next 4 sts, 3 sc in last st. DO NOT TURN
(you’ll continue to work back down the other side of the chain) sc in next 4 sts, 2sc in next/last. Join.
Row 1: Ch-1, 2sc in SAME st as join, sc in next 4 sts, 2sc in next, sc in next, 2sc in next, sc in next 4, 2sc in next, sc in next. Join.
Row 2 & 3 : Ch-1, sc in each around. Join (18 sts)
Row 4: *Ch-5, sc in third st* Repeat around, DO NOT JOIN! Instead of joining, you’ll sc AROUND the first ch-5 from the previous row (see photo below).
Row 5 to desired height (about 4″ top to bottom): Ch-4, sc around next ch-5 from previous row, ch-4, sc around next ch-5 from previous row.  Repeat around (in a spiral) until desired height.

When desired height is reached, end with sc on narrow side and ch-50 for strap.  Attach strap to opposite side with sc.

Fasten off and weave in ends.

If you make the base bigger and work from that then sew in a lining and a zipper you could make a purse/bag. Love the idea
