Copycat Wallaby Darned Recipe
My husband and I met behind the bar at Outback. True story. Two kids, three dogs and ten years later we are still making our favorite of their drinks – the Wallaby Darned. While we do not have access to the peachy liquid they use, we are able to replicate the taste with a few run-of-the-mill and very inexpensive substitutes.

Ingredients:
1 can (14.5 oz) Peaches in Heavy Syrup
1/2 cup Peach Schnapps
1/2 cup Vodka
3/4 cup (or one small bottle) Champagne
1 pkg Peach Mango Kool-Aid
3 cups Ice
1/3 cup Sugar (optional)
Directions:
- Remove peaches from can (do not drain) and dump into a food storage bag. Freeze.
- Add all ingredients to blender.
- Blend until smooth
- Pour and enjoy!
This Copycat Wallaby Darned recipe makes about 4 pint size glasses. Note that if you’d like to make the “Down Under” version, all that means is that you add a small floater (1/2 oz) of both vodka and schnapps. Garnish with a peach if desired.
You could omit the sugar to cut down on those added calories. The added sugar does make it taste more like the original Wallaby Darned, but it is not absolutely necessary. You might also add 1 – 2 drops of red food coloring to give it that nice, peachy color.
