Have you ever found a yarn that so captures your imagination and creativity, yet leaves you clueless as to what to crochet? This is not a new concept for me, and the saga in the long string of gorgeous, unattached yarn to patterns continues with the “Painted Canyon” colorway in “I Love This Yarn!” from Hobby Lobby.
I fell in love with this yarn when I saw someone post a hat made with Painted Canyon on the Heart Hook Home Crochet Community page. GORGEOUS! And then someone mentioned that it may be discontinued because we can’t find it on their website. So of course I ran to Hobby Lobby and bought eight skeins. 😀
I’ve been sitting on this yarn for a solid, torturous week and I have finally decided what I want to make. First I thought a jacket, then I changed directions and decided to double up the strands and run with an infinity scarf. A “from here to infinity” scarf – because that’s how much I love this yarn. ♥
From Here to Infinity Scarf
This pattern is worked with two strands of worsted weight yarn. If you don’t have Painted Canyon, I’ll pass you a tissue and wait as the emotion passes. 😉 Any other worsted weight will suffice.
Get the pattern here. Materials, pattern notes and more below.
MATERIALS:
Worsted weight yarn (Painted Canyon in I Love This Yarn! from Hobby Lobby used)
Crochet hook in size J or M/N depending on version used (both included in pattern)
PATTERN NOTES:
I originally created this pattern to have a tighter weave, using a J hook. Then I decided I wanted the scarf to be more “squishy” so I went up to an M/N hook and changed the number of beginning chains. I prefer the outcome using the M/N hook myself.
But I have created the pattern with instructions for both versions.
If you’d like a more dense scarf, use the directions requiring the J hook, if you too would like a “squishier” scarf, follow the directions using the M/N hook.
This pattern is available on Ravelry for a small fee. Thank you for supporting my {very small} business! ♥
