Be still my amigurumi heart! Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and so is CHD (Congenital Heart Defect) week. In celebration, I have created a new free crochet pattern for an amigurumi LOVE heart!
For this amigurumi love heart pattern we are using a worsted weight yarn and a crochet hook to match size. I used a G hook for the majority of my tester hearts, and an H hook for my last. I love how they both worked up! If you like, use a fingering/lace weight yarn with a corresponding hook to make a tiny one, or a super bulky yarn with an M or N hook for a small-ish throw pillow. How adorable are these?!
Amigurumi Love Heart
Materials:
Small amount of worsted weight/medium/size 4/Aran yarn
Size G crochet hook
Fiberfill (stuffing)
Stitch markers
Upholstery needle
If you are wanting to make the (MUCH) larger throw pillow, you’ll need the following materials list, all else remains the same.
Blanket Yarn – approx. 845 yards
-Red Heart Sweet Home in Merlot pictured
Size 15mm crochet hook
Fiberfill (stuffing)
Stitch markers
Upholstery needle
To make this heart, I used FOUR strands of Red Heart’s Sweet Home yarn. It is a whopping 60″ in circumference! Nothing else was changed, the pattern and stitch counts remain the same.
Pattern:
Make two.
Magic circle, 6sc in ring. Do not join. (6)
Row 1: 2sc in each st around (12)
Row 2: *sc in first, 2sc in next* around (18)

Row 8: Sc in each st around (40)
Row 9: Sc in each st around (40)
Fasten off leaving a tail about 10” long.
Make the second hump and do not fasten off.
Connect the two humps using the tail left from the first hump. Sew humps together using 5 sts from each (see photo). Whip stitch through those five sts and fasten off. The two humps together (before sewn) would be 80 sts total. After sewing them together, we will have 70 sts total to start the body. Make sure you will have 70 sts before moving on. Do invisible decreases throughout.
