If you’re looking for an interesting crochet project, the Sangria Sorbet crochet blanket pattern is for you! This blanket uses double crochet and popcorn stitches in a way that forms structured triangles, and I just love the effect. I think you’ll enjoy crocheting it, too!
Sangria Sorbet Crochet Blanket
After asking on the Heart Hook Home Facebook page for name suggestions, I decided to go with Sangria Sorbet for this gorgeous design. There were so many great name suggestions, it was hard to choose! Many of the comments mentioned how lovely the pink color is, or how vibrant and fun the design is. For this pattern I used Chic Sheep yarn in the “Dragon Fruit” colorway (now discontinued 😟).
It was almost difficult to get my camera to pick up the vibrancy of the color. That being said, I am in love with the richness of that deep pink and the weight of the blanket paired with this stitch is divine. It is heavy enough to keep you warm, and almost like a weighted blanket.
You could, of course, use any other worsted weight yarn.
Materials:
Worsted Weight yarn (Chic Sheep Yarn in “Dragon Fruit” colorway pictured)
-approx. 2775 yards
Crochet hook in size H/5mm
Gauge:
Unimportant, but 9 dcs = 2.5″ wide
Finished Dimensions:
Approx. 48” x 60”

Pattern Notes:
Pattern written using US terms.
Popcorn (tutorial here) = “Pop” = 4dcs. In this pattern we are using a ch-1 to close each Popcorn stitch.
Ch-3 at the beginning of the row DOES count as a double crochet.
On odd numbered rows insert hook front to back to complete Popcorns.
On even numbered rows insert hook back to front to complete Popcorns.
If you would like to make a size different than mine, you will need to alter the foundation chain by a multiple of 16 stitches. Since my beginning chain of 197 makes a blanket that is ~48″ wide, a starting chain of, say, 149 would make a blanket approximately 36″ wide. Or if you’d like it to be larger (say 60″ wide) you would need to start with 245 chains. Questions? Don’t hesitate to ask!

That it is! I do hope you enjoyed crocheting this fun blanket with me. This is one that I worked on off and on for the better part of a year. I liked crocheting this blanket because of the challenge and the attention required, but once you get those repeats down the pattern works up nicely and definitely keeps your attention.
