Raise your hand if you have a hair clip addiction! My hair is the longest it has ever been and I have a vast and varied collection of different hair clips, pins, and accessories. I’ve always clipped my bigger hair clips around random things in my room or bathroom to keep them “organized” … the edges of a shelf, around the pole on my plant stand, etc. Not anymore! Let’s crochet a Hair Clip Strip using this free pattern.

Hair Clip Strip Crochet Pattern

If you know me at all, you know that my favorite type of crochet is useful crochet. So let’s whip up a crocheted Hair Clip Strip to keep all of our hair clips in one place and organized. Between this and the Eyeglasses Organizer we’ll be getting our lives together one crochet project at a time. Ha!

This pattern is completely customizable for length. Whether you have 4 hair clips or 20, the crocheted Hair Clip Strip is the perfect thing for your space.

For this pattern we are using cotton yarn and only about ___ yards as written. This is a small enough amount that we could make several out of each skein of the recommended cotton, Craft Cotton or Dishie Cotton. I’m thinking this could be a good item to take to your next craft fair too!

If you are wondering how long to make you Hair Clip Strip, the first thing is to determine is how many hair clips you have. The teeth in my regular ol’ hair clips line up almost perfectly with the crossed double crochet stitches of the strip itself. Each one takes up about 8 – 10 of the holes formed by the crossed double crochets. Of course there are varying sizes of hair clips.
