Thick Marguerite Stitch Cloth
On the second Friday of every month throughout 2020 I share a NEW cloth pattern featuring a never seen before ( at least on Heart Hook Home 😉 ) stitch. I can not believe we are already HALF WAY through the year! I do hope you love this cloth as much as I do. The thickness of this stitch makes for excellent hot pads for the kitchen – assuming you use a cotton yarn which does not melt like acrylic would.
Cloth sizes:
5.5″ x 5.5″ – great for a face cloth or for showering
11″ x 11″ – average washcloth size
18″ x 12″ – dish drying mat, place mat, dusting cloth etc.
Materials:
Dishie Cotton (Kenai colorway pictured)
-approx. 40 yards for small
-approx. 142 yards for medium
-approx. 265 yards for large
In order to make all three of these cloths, I used about about two and a half skeins of the Dishie cotton yarn.
Crochet hook in size H/5mm
Gauge: 7 Thick Marguerite stitches x 5 Thick Marguerite stitch rows (incl sc rows) = 4″ square
Pattern Notes:
Pattern written using US terms.
Thick Marguerite – Written as Hdc5tog. Uses the eye of previous Marguerite stitch, last post of the previous Marguerite stitch, same st as last Marguerite stitch, next open stitch and following open stitch. Be sure to watch the video tutorial if you need help.
