Woven In Time CAL: Part TWO

In part ONE of the Woven in Time CAL we crocheted strips that will run one direction in our blanket. In THIS part we will crochet the strips to be placed in the opposite direction. Your mission is to complete the following eleven strips so that by the time part THREE is released, you will have twenty strips total; 9 longer from part one, and 11 shorter from part two. In part THREE (to be published March 15, 2019) we’ll put them all together and add the finishing touches!

Woven In Time Part TWO

As discussed in the materials and information post, for this part of the CAL, part TWO, you will need approximately 1485 yards (135 yards per strip x 11 strips) of worsted weight/Aran yarn.  Use up your yarn scraps, or just one color – up to you!

How to crochet a sofa blanket

If you are starting at the beginning with this crochet along, find the materials list here (including hook size, yardage, etc) and find part ONE here.

Part TWO: Make eleven (11) of these:

Row 1: Fhdc-117 (or ch-118, hdc in 2nd ch from hook and in each to end) (117)

Rows 2 – 12: Ch-1, turn, hdc in each st to end (117)

Fasten off and weave in all ends on all strips.

In the next and final installment, part THREE, we will compile all of our strips and complete the rest of the blanket. This will include instructions for compiling/laying out your strips, adding the border, stabilizing the blanket, etc.

If, after you’re finished with your eleven strips for part two, you decide to skip ahead and start playing with the layout etc (technically this should be done in part three, but a little design layout never hurt nobody 😛 ) I recommend taking a photo of it when you get it the way you like it. That way, when we start part three you are ready to hit the floor running! Part three will be released on March 15th.

  1. Ashlea, I would like to know when or where you will provide directions for the other sizes to you Woven in time blanket? I added your pattern to my Ravelry account, thank you for making it available for free as we all know how much work you put into all your ideas.
  2. Thank you for the directions, so far it's been easy but come part three will there be written directions? The reason I ask is I have arthritis and it takes me a long time to get things done. Again thank you!!
    1. Hi Debbie! Each part of the pattern will remain on the blog and I will also have the pattern available on Ravelry once the CAL is over.
