What do we need? Leg Warmers! When do we want them? Now! So let’s grab our hooks and whip up a pair of super cute, squishy crocheted leg warmers for every member of the family with this free crochet pattern!
All In The Family Crochet Leg Warmers
The All In the Family Crochet Leg Warmers pattern is just that. The free pattern includes seven sizes of leg warmers from newborn all the way to adult. The best part? It doesn’t matter which size you make, you should be able to make a pair with just ONE skein of most worsted weight yarns.
This is the newest installment of the 2023 One Skein Series, in which I am publishing one pattern per month (on the second Friday) that uses one skein of yarn or less.
As long as your skein has 250 yards you can make a pair of adult size leg warmers. If your skein has 360 yards or more, you can make an adult pair AND a child size pair from the same skein! 🙌
Yardage per skein of commonly used worsted weight yarn yardage are as follows:
Red Heart Super Saver – 364 yards
Bernat Value – 440 yards
I Love This Yarn – 355 yards
Big Twist Value – 380 yards
There’s something about a chunky baby wearing leg warmers that gets me. So adorable, and so quick to crochet too! With this pattern and how little yarn it takes, baby can have a whole assortment of colors and yarn choices in no time flat.
With the cost of living nowadays, I’m doing things more frugally than I have in years. I’ve gone through my list of 33 ways to lower your utilities and included in that, have taken my own advice and turned my thermostat down by 2 degrees. My feet are always cold anyway and these leg warmers are a big help in making that adjustment.
I am also going on walks most mornings, or when it’s at least 36 degrees F, and on those chillier days its so nice to have my ankles covered. I’m going to make a plain black pair next so they’ll go with any yoga pants.
Grab the ad-free, printable PDF of this pattern on Ravelry, Etsy, or right here in the Heart Hook Home blog shop. Thank you!
