Ninja turtles are all the rage. I know both of my boys wish they could be a ninja turtle. If you too have a little ninja turtle fan, whip up one of these beanies with masks. This is a quick pattern, and even if you are new to crochet it shouldn’t be too difficult. You only need to know how to single crochet and double crochet, which we have in our video tutorials!

  1. I made this using a G hook and it turned out huge on me! I had to go down to a F! I don't crochet too loose!
  2. This comes a day late......it was my grandsons birthday yesterday and he's a big ninja turtle fan but I 'm definitely gonna make this for him as well as my others. Thank you very much!
  3. LOVE this beanie! It is so darn cute! I am making it for my 8 year old cousin, but I am a little concerned about the how large it is. Just to be clear, you used a h (5.0 mm) hook and this pattern is in us terms right? Thanks for the pattern!!
  4. I am loving this pattern o am still very new to crochet. I am quote confused on the single crochet around the 11 chain....how exactly do I do this??
  5. I always feel like the rings aren't right when I do them. Am I supposed to chain two to start each row? I wasn't sure if it's assumed to chain two before a dble crochet, or to do it only if the pattern specifically asks for it.
      1. I was asking for the rows in the hat. Is it supposed to spiral? My first two rounds, after the magic circle, spiraled together. I could start over, but I decided to chain two to make the rounds the same height and then join with a sl
  6. Could you please put this on YouTube , I would like tutorial, I'm new at this, I have a hard time understanding ,the written but I can if u show me how
  7. Hi there! Thanks for posting a free pattern for this cute hat! I tried it and it turned out HUGE! I don't know what I did wrong. Was 17 rows a typo? In your picture it looks more like 13 for the beanie part? Also, what does "sc 15 times around your ch-11" mean? I don't understand how you crochet 15 around 11. I'm pretty new to this, so maybe I just don't know the lingo yet. Thanks in advance for any help. Karen
    1. Hi! You can do as many rows as you like. What kind of yarn are you using? My 17 rows fits my 8 year old well, and it is tight on me. I'm wondering if your yarn or hook is larger than mine? On the sc 15 around the chain, you are actually crocheting around the eye opening, not IN each ch. If you look at the bottom of the eye opening, you'll see that they don't go through the ch from the previous row. Putting 15 sc around the chain of 11 makes the eye open up more and pull it down to make the eye opening larger. Does that help?
  8. I love this pattern. I made 3 one for each grandson. Going to make a few for next years hat giveaway at our church.
