There is something magical about this Fable Fur yarn. It is so plush and so soft, it works up quickly and it is super warm. This is exactly why I decided we needed a Faux Fur Boot Cuff pattern!
Faux Fur Boot Cuff Pattern
It has been pretty darn cold here in Kansas so the other day I decided to wear my duck boots – the kind with the small bit of fur lining around the top. It was then that I realized that we need to combine our love of crochet and Fable Fur yarn to turn it into a fur boot cuff pattern. Now we can turn ANY pair of boots into super chic, super warm “fur lined” boots! ♥
If you’ve crocheted from my designs in the past, you know that I like to be as punny as possible with my design names. The “Faux Sho” Fur Boot Cuffs are the latest in my pun-filled adventures. I hope you love them and that the name gives you a giggle each time you put them on. “Am I wearing my Faux Fur boot cuffs today? FO SHO I am!” Haha!!
Materials:
Fable Fur yarn (Kuma colorway pictured)
-approx. 65 yards (less than one ball)
Crochet hook in size 7mm
Gauge:
7 sts x 5.5 rows = 4″ square
Pattern Notes:
Ch-2 at beginning of each row does not count as a stitch.
Dimensions: 4.5” x 15” (before sewing)
Size: This boot cuff pattern is designed to be a one-size-fits-most. If you have very narrow calves or very wide calves, test the length after about 20 to 24 rows respectively. These rows are big because the yarn is so bulky, so it is easy to remove from or add to the size as needed. You want them to be slightly smaller than the circumference of your calf because they will stretch a bit and you don’t want them to fall down easily.
Pattern:
Row 1: Ch-10, hdc in 3rd chain from hook and in each ch to end. (8)
Rows 2 – 22: Ch-2, turn. Working between the posts of the previous row’s sts, hdc across, placing your last hdc in the beg ch-2 space. (8)
Construction:
Lay the piece out flat and sew end to end, stitch for stitch. Weave in ends and you are done!
I love that you can throw these in ANY pair of boots to add a bit of pizzazz. I also love how quickly these work up, and the fact that we can have multiple colors! With just one skein of fur yarn, we have a gorgeous set of boot cuffs that will last for years. I hope you love yours!
