My new Aspen Dreams Slouchy Beanie pattern reminds me of aspen trees, freshly fallen snow, and rosy cheeks after skiing down a mountain. I love the texture of the fun crochet stitches and the gorgeous way these yarn colors compliment one another. The Aspen Dreams Slouchy Beanie is available in sizes from infant to large adult, so the whole family can get in on the fun.

Aspen Dreams Slouchy Beanie

For this new beanie pattern I used the NEW Kindred yarn from WeCrochet. This yarn is a dreamy 68% baby alpaca, 32% Peruvian Pima cotton blend. It is soft and because of the cotton does not stretch over much, which makes it great for beanies that hold their shape well!

For most sizes (up to the “adult” as I made here) you need just one skein of each color. I absolutely love the white peeks of color that the cotton provides, and the feel of this yarn worked up is absolutely to die for! ♥

This is a size 3, DK weight yarn. Several of my testers used worsted weight yarn they had on hand and their hats turned out beautifully. The best part is that you don’t need much of each color! Great stash buster, too. 😀

Kindred Yarn

Materials:

Kindred Yarn in three colors (DK weight, each skein has 115 yards)
-Raspberry Cordial (A), Goldenrod (B), and Wintergreen (C) pictured

Crochet hook in size H/5mm (use for gauge and most of the beanie)

Crochet hook in size G/4mm

Gauge: 17 sc sts in 4”

Pattern Notes:

We are working this pattern in rounds, joining and turning after each row.

Pattern written using US terms.

Tc = treble crochet

Front Post/Back Post stitches used for the edging. See my full tutorial here.

Odd numbered rows are “right side”.

Each “stripe” or “set” of colors is 4 rows tall.

Every row is a 6 stitch repeat. Once you get the first 6 stitches down, all you have to do is repeat those six stitches through to the end of the row. The detailed tutorial photos will help with stitch placement if needed.

Sizes: (Infant, Toddler, Child/Teen, Adult, Large Adult)

It's so very beautiful, I'd love a video as well since I can't seem to make the stitch work.
