  1. Love this pattern! They worked up super fast! I love quick projects! They are currently on my feet, the fit is perfect and super comfy!! Thank you!
  2. Hi I love the look of these! But I cant crochet, do you have a knitted pattern for this or a way to convert it? Thank you
    1. Hi Elayne! The Chunky Ballet Slippers include instruction on how to make with a worsted weight yarn for child sizes. That post can be found here: https://hearthookhome.com/chunky-ballet-slippers-and-kids-slippers-crochet-pattern/
  3. Hi, I am recovering from foot surgery which means a lot of time sitting at home and so I have made several pairs and am giving them as gifts. One friend asked if I could make her four pairs and she would pay me for them. Do you allow that? I was just thinking I could make them for her and if she picks me up something at the grocery store that would be ‘payment’ for me. What are your thoughts? They are absolutely adorable and so easy to make and a big hit with everyone I’ve given them to already as gifts. Thank you very much, Mary G
    1. Hi Mary! I am glad you are enjoying the pattern and you are more than welcome to sell what you have made...I only ask that pattern design credit goes to Heart Hook Home. Thank you for asking and I hope your recovery goes quickly!
  4. Very cute pattern, unfortunately these won’t last for long if you choose a yarn that is 100 % cotton/acrylic. You have to choose a sock yarn!
    1. I made two pair of these more than two years ago, with acrylic worsted weight yarn. They are holding up just fine!
    1. this looks like a nice pattern to start making slippers, but I only have chunky and DK yarn plus I am a loose crocheter can you tell me if I can use one of these or do I have to wait till the yarn shop re opens thanks and keep safe and well xx.
  5. So my feet are a little wider and a half size apart. They're 7.5 and 8 i think. but i wear a 9w. How many stitches would i need to do to actually make it fit my feet. I don't want to have to restart the entire thing again. I got to row 8 and was like nope doesn't even fit over 3 of my toes. TIA
    1. I made these using weight 4 acrylic yarn and a 4.5mm G hook, basically because I don't own a D hook. I followed the pattern exactly and the end result fits my wide 9 foot nicely. i do like to always add 1 extra row of single crochet around the ankle since yarns stretch out very fast; I like tight slippers. About to start my 2nd half of the pair.
  6. Very interested in new stitches and easier ways of crocheting...I am 101 and they way you teach and all the new beautiful stitches that you teach is very expressive. Thank you so much!
  7. What’s the gauge used for this pattern? I’m a tight crocheter, so I usually need a gauge to adjust my hook size. :(
  8. Just made a fresh pair of these for a trip coming up. These are the fastest and best fitting of any pattern I've ever used! Love Love Love this pattern!!! Thanks Ashlea! Your patterns are the best!
  9. I absolutely love your ballet slipper pattern, and it's also my favorite slipper pattern. I appreciate how clear your instructions are and the pictures are also a great visual guide as my grandmother only taught me how to crochet a basic granny square and left me to learn the rest on my own. I do have a question on my last row I had to crochet 12 double crochets 3tog and 12 double and the pattern says 11 double 3tog 11 double is this a typo or did I make a mistake somewhere?
  10. Love these slippers. Made them as gifts last Christmas. My mom is wanting a pair, but, I need to make an adjustment somehow. She has had surgery on her heel where they removed part of it. How could I make some type of tie so they can be snugged up to the heel to keep it in place? I don’t want to compromise your beautiful pattern without checking fist. TIA
    1. All the D hooks I have or have seen are either 3.0 mm and the next size up is a E 3.5 mm. What brand hook has this? TYIA
    2. I love this pattern. Thank you so much these beautiful slippers. Plan on making a some for Christmas... Great job
    3. Is it possible to just shorten the number of rows on that foot? Like I do a total of 6 rows then the 7th is the one that gets the 3tog. Maybe you could do one less on that foot or add a tab on the heel that let you make a tie for around the ankle?
    4. I love this patten. It is fast and easy. I also love the weight of the finished slipper, but not the way it feels when I walk on it. It hurts my feet!
    1. Made a pair of these in about 6 hours give or take time to pause for children, husband, dinner and laundry lol. Any who i love love this pattern. So quick so easy simple but cute! I make crochet shoes and slippers all year round and have been crocheting for 20 years now. This was the fastest ive made two at once and with no frogging on the second one because it didnt match the first. So glad i found your site!
    1. Hi Wanda! On rows 18-length needed, just work your rows until the slipper length is about 1" shorter than your foot length. Hope this helps!
      1. Hi Marie! The chunky slipper pattern doubles as the kids size. That pattern can be found here: https://hearthookhome.com/chunky-ballet-slippers-and-kids-slippers-crochet-pattern/
  11. Hi! I'd love it if you shared some of your patterns on my Crochet Pattern Link Party! They are all so lovely! You can find the party at: http://kmariecrafts.com/maker-monday-crochet-link-party-3/ Hope to see you join! Thanks, Kelsey
  12. Hi I was wondering if I want to make this for a friend who wears normally size 5-6 would I need to reduce the top part as well (that covers the toes) the number of rows ? Thanks
  13. I love this pattern these are my go to slippers for everyone my whole family are getting them for Christmas this year they are so simple but they look really good xx
  14. I followed this to a T and the toe portion is not wide enough.... I don't want to redo it to make it larger for myself, guess I will be giving them as a gift to someone with tiny feet.
    1. Also, if you need it longer than to row 18, do you continue the pattern doing the increases or stick to the 25 stitches?
    2. Measure around your foot, read the guage on the ball band to determine stitches per inch with the recommended hook size. If you need more stitches for the width of your foot, make an extra increase at each side of the toe/foot area on esch row until it fits your foot. Then working on those stitches, continue following the general flow of the pattern to the end. Enjoy your slippers, they are lovely !!
  15. I'm crocheting the ballet slippers for my sister. She's between shoe size of 5-6 but I'm trying to figure out how I can measure it. I found the foot size chart but I'm trying to figure where I should measure from on the slipper.
    1. Hi Yolanda! You will be measuring from the toe of the slipper to row 18 (or however long you need the slipper to be). Hope this helps!
