I am SO excited to debut my first top-down fitted sweater pattern: the Shanti Sweater! This gorgeous circular yoke crochet pattern is available in sizes from XS to 5XL, and is very much a beginner-friendly design.

When designing this sweater pattern, I wanted something both comfortable and flattering. This is my first top-down fitted sweater and I could not be more pleased with how it turned out. So comfy to wear and so chic too!

I decided to call this the Shanti Sweater because Shanti means “peace” in Sanskrit and I think we could all use a little peace in our lives right now. ♥

For this sweater pattern we are using the Herringbone Double Crochet stitch. Find a complete stitch tutorial for this stitch here.

This is a fun variation of the regular double crochet that lends a fantastic texture, appearance, while also creating a nice, squishy fabric. You’ll love to wear this sweater whether you’re hanging out on the couch, or headed out for a walk with the dog. (or out and around town – when we’re allowed to!)

I have made for myself two different sizes of this pattern, both using the Bernat Softee Baby yarn. The grey version is a size XL and uses the Flannel colorway. The red version is a size large and uses the Little Red Wagon colorway. The XL definitely fits me better, and that is what size I normally wear. But I do love them both! The sizing chart below will help you decide which size to make for yourself.

I ❤️ this sweater and I can’t wait to make it! (And I respectfully disagree with you about the red sweater - it fits nicely and the color looks great! )

Do you have a very simple sweater like the Shanti, that is made for men? Or could the Shanti be used for Men also?
