Board Game Pouch Crochet Pattern

This is the 4th installment of the 2026 Toy & Game Crochet Series. So far we’ve had a Toy Hammock, a set of Poker Chips, and Puzzle Piece Sorter Bowls for color coding your puzzles’ pieces as you’re working them. We are going to have so much FUN this year with these patterns. How cool is this series?!

Let’s add to it with these board game pouches to use as replacement baggies for player pieces, pie pieces, dice for Yahtzee, or other accessories for board games. Now that’s what I call WINNING! Ha!

For this board game pouch we are using a cotton blend yarn. I am using My Ami because it has such a great blend of fibers and I find that it doesn’t get splitty on me. You can also get My Ami in a 5-pk as well which I love for ALL of the vibrant colors. This yarn is quickly becoming a favorite of mine! I have also used it in the Puzzle Piece Sorter Bowl pattern, my new Anatomical Heart pattern which I’ll be presenting to Caden’s surgeon, and in the Tunisian Trick or Treat bag pattern.

For this game pouch pattern you can make your pouches in any size you like. If the size small pouch in this pattern isn’t quite small enough, it’s okay to remove a few stitches and see how that works for your purposes. There are notes included in the pattern to help you size the pouches either up or down.

Ready to help make game night cleanup a bit more organized? These whip up super fast with just scrap yarns. I’m using the My Ami yarn but really any acrylic, or cotton, or blend would work great. Let’s make some pouches!

The ch-2 at the beginning of the row does not count as a stitch.

The pouches are made as long rectangles that are folded in half and seamed.

To change the sizing of the pouches you can add or subtract from the beginning chain.

Make as few or as many rows as you like to make the size pouch you need.

Note that if you make your pouch too much larger than the pattern is written, you may find that the double crochet isn’t sturdy enough. You might bump down and use half double crochet instead.

Abbreviations:

Ch(s): Chains
Dc: Double crochet
