I’ve been wanting to design a hoodie crochet pattern for as long as I can remember. When creating this hoodie, I wanted to incorporate a FUN stitch that also works up quickly. It took some definite tweaking, but I am SO excited to debut the Don’t Worry, Bean Happy Hoodie crochet pattern featuring the Mini Bean stitch! Ahhhh! ♥

For this pattern I used Red Heart With Love, the green pictured is the “Lettuce” colorway and I just love the way it turned out!  I tend to stick to boring, neutral colors, so this adds a bit of splash to my wardrobe!

This hoodie has a clean, simple, single crochet edge. Because the Mini Bean stitch is twice the width of a regular stitch, the rows just fly by! I love how the nature of the stitch allows for some stretch and wiggle room, while also keeping such a beautiful texture. This hoodie crochet pattern is perfect for teens transitioning into adult sizes, or women wearing sizes up to 4XL!

You can find this pattern on either Ravelry, Etsy, or in the Heart Hook Home shop. Thank you!

  1. I am just starting working on the Harvest Hoodie. Can someone please tell me how many stitches are supposed to be on the front, back and sides at the end of row 12. It says 188 stitches, but my sides don't match. I want to get it figured out so I can go one. Thank you , and Ashlea, Thank you for the new Alex sweater that you just put out .
  2. Is there a way I can get the pattern for the BEAN HAPPY HOODIE CROCHET PATTERN BECAUSE I REALLY WANT TO MAKE THAT FOR MY DAUGHTER

    1. Hi Stephanie! No, there is not a video for this pattern...there is a tutorial for the mini bean stitch, if that will help at all. https://hearthookhome.com/crochet-mini-bean-stitch-elizabeth-stitch-tutorial/
  3. I have seen this sweater posted on your Facebook group made so many beautiful ways in amazing colors. What I love most about this sweater is the neckline. Is there an option to make this sweater without the hood?
  4. I love your patterns and have bought several. I was wondering if you would consider designing a vertical cardigan with a collar that meets in the front, like the Painted Canyon Cardigan without the hood. I would be happy to make it for you to see how it works up. Please let me know. Forever your devote, Cynthia Owens Richardson
  5. Hello I have made several of the painted cardigans... I want to make this new one for myself.... My question is my bust size is a 36 and thats a size medium... But I normally wear a large in women's shirts without sleeves and an xl large shirt with sleeves. I have very large arms... I guess what im wanting to know is can i make the large cardigan with the xl sleeves ?? How would I do that??
    1. Measure your bust, hips and arm length. Adjust your crochet rows to match the length. I make my sweaters as an XL. I have your same measurements.
  6. Hi, I love your patterns. I'm having trouble understanding what it means to go in the side of the mini bean stitch. Is that the actual loop on the side?
    1. Hi Maria! I have a tutorial (video and pictures) which shows where you need to go into. That can be found here: https://hearthookhome.com/crochet-mini-bean-stitch-elizabeth-stitch-tutorial/
